I'd like to see a mod that when applied to a portal allows you to transmit gear over a random link from the portal similar to the way shards transfer. The mod should require both portals to be level 8 and have a max link length of 500km and would be time limited to 30 minutes.
I think this would encourage megafielding.

agreed, I've always thought being able to transfer keys this way would be a great way of encouraging team play with agents from adjacent areas...
The requirement that both ends be L8 seems a bit heavy. It would be nice to be able to do, but perhaps a mod on each end which required matching passcodes, then allow you to drop items into the portal to have them dropped at the corresponding link terminus.
Thinking about it, the requirement for level 8 is not necessary.
Great idea beside the L8 portal because it's hard to get an L8 and then a clear lane to link...
Ultimately this is a great idea. I don't know if it should take up a mod slot though. Maybe just have the ability to transfer gear from portal to portal. Maybe just an item bought through chaotic matter that can be applied temporarily to a portal and can choose only one portal as long as you have the key to that portal and can make the link in the time that the device is installed to the origin portal. So kind of like a fracker that has one shot for a limited time to send one item or capsule to a portal you have the key to.
I would say that this would essentially drop the need for two way key exchanges. Sending support gear to somewhere is a nice idea, but I would certainly exclude keys from transferable items.
